Top of the Wolds this June!

Our new Logo!

Well what a wet month June is! Even though we are on a hill, quite a high one, we had a bit of a flood in the pump house so ironically we had a hiccup in the water supply! Not for long though and it was bailed out and expertly repaired at no inconvenience to Poachers guests...

The weather didn't worry the Banovallum Duke of Edinburgh students, they camped up here the other weekend and the weather was, well horrific to say the least! They walked miles some got lost all got wet!

Yep we have a new logo, because we have officially launched our campground - Top of The Wolds!

Retro Camping.

A campsite with amazing all around views, this best describes ‘Top of the Wolds’, our campground for caravans, motorhomes and tents, all here at Poachers Hideaway!

You can enjoy sunrises and sunsets on, Top of the Wolds, while experiencing tranquility at its best.
Also, with little light pollution our sky’s can be ablaze with stars!

We have provision for six caravans/motorhomes with electric and water hookup. We also have the luxury of a shower block and toilet facilities.

Our prices range from £10 per night for a single camper in a tent, to £25 per night for a caravan or motorhome with full electric hook up.

Why not pop up for a fishing holiday? Our well stocked carp lakes are available to you…

Fishermen, women and children of all ages and abilities are invited to fish our lakes.

It is essentially coarse fishing with Carp (up to 25lbs), Tench, Roach and Bream but do not be surprised if you land the odd Brown Trout as there are a few in there, just to keep the small fry down. Poachers Hideaway lakes are for the exclusive use of our guests and fishing is open.

There are no “pegs”, we simply ask that you treat both the sport and habitat with respect and that children are accompanied by a responsible adult as the water is very deep in places. The fish are partial to tinned potatoes, sweet corn and bread.

Willow Lodge is a fully enclosed glass lodge; where non-angling party members can sit and enjoy the views without getting their feet wet!

This also provides an ideal area for a BBQ. Local angling shops include the Horncastle Angling Centre that can be found on North Street

Please note the following:
•  £20 per rod (£5 for juniors).
•  The use of ground bait is not permitted
•  No keepnets
•  Barbless hooks only to be used
•  All fish to be returned to the lakes

We welcome Duke of Edinburgh award expeditions, our location is perfectly situated to accommodate such events.

Poachers Hideaway is the perfect place to explore, relax, unwind and enjoy the natural beauty of the countryside as said many times before.

We have had another welcome addition up here at Poachers Hideaway, she was born last week...

A sweet little lady resting her long legs!

The Shire horses are increasing in numbers, and are very popular with guests and residents alike.

Our wild flowers are starting to look amazing, I think its going to be a bumper crop this year. In a couple of weeks they will be at there best.

The weather seams to be very favourable to the crops around Poachers Hideaway, this field of barley along the Viking Way is beautiful!

Going to finish with a stunning sunset shot by Poachers budding photographer Leah....

A sunset view from Top of the Wolds, caravanning, camping and fishing, come and stay a while!
